For its January to June 2012 collections, Pleasure State has designed pieces that showcase the art of embellishment, abandoning all things jaded and infusing decorative and exquisite elements into this season’s lingerie.

A fluid fusion of Rococo decoration is touched by a playful fantasy and ornate designs. Floriage intertwines floral themes with camouflage as an abstract representation of the natural environment. The rich culture of India is displayed in unique forms of adornment, bursting with elaborative design and colour.

The common theme is ‘Ornamentation’. Pleasure State White Label presents the story of an enchanted palace, rich with the architectural influence of the Rococo era and accented by dreams of a far-away fantasy world.

Pleasure State White Label

THE ENCHANTED PALACE

Each era has its own definition of luxury. For this season, Pleasure State White Label’s January to June 2012 collection gathers inspiration from the lavish Rococo period, where symmetry has been abandoned in favour of intense, ornate and lively designs. Pleasure State White Label combines this with the imaginary Enchanted Palace in all its delicate, floral splendor: a paragon of ostentatious ornamentation.

Pleasure State White Label has dreamed up a vibrant colour palette for this season. Burnished regal undertones of cinnabar, the antique majesty of verdigris, and a whimsical Pegasus print in cerulean blue give this collection a beautifully antique aura, reminiscent of delicately framed portraits hanging in a late Baroque castle.

The namesake “Rococo” range perfectly encapsulates the collection’s historic elegance: a print design on smooth, stretch-woven satin featuring stylised acanthus leaves on a marble background, teamed with an intricate leaf embroidery trim. Delicately aged colours further embellish this range with a mix of Prussian blue, vermillion, hints of silver grey and the ever-stunning verdigris.

The stunning cerulean blue of “Porcelain” washes over a print incorporating the fantasy of Pegasus with acanthus leaves and old roses to create a richly ornamented design on light stretch lace.

Pleasure State White Label offers a variety of intimate pieces, each displaying the regality and magnificence of truly fine craftsmanship. This opulence shines through in the camisoles, corsets and baby dolls that form this season’s collection.

Pleasure State Couture

FLORIAGE

Pleasure State Couture rewrites the rules of elegance, creating experimental illusions by mixing patterns with an onslaught of flowers and floral emblems. For its January to June 2012 collection, Pleasure State Couture introduces the rustic allure of Floriage. Design lines are obscured amid appliqué, encrusted jewels and custom-designed embroidery, fearlessly harnessing the true spirit of Ornamentation.

Pleasure State Couture’s Floriage collection showcases an exotic array of designs for this season. “Wild Rose” dominates in black bouquet, with lashings of smooth black Italian stretch satin, soft lace, embroidery and Swarovski crystals. The inspiration for the collection is captured in the eponymous “Floriage” range, stunningly portrayed in a striking poppy print with deep red and ultramarine tones on luxurious Italian satin.

Contrasting satin is bejeweled with Swarovski crystals, highlighting the brilliance of this beautiful print. “Wisteria” is dramatic and exotic: its print highlighted by dashes of yellow, turquoise and blue on smooth Italian stretch-woven satin. Finished with a crystal baroque pearl, this range creates a sense of seductive audacity. With its embroidered Swiss tulle and Italian stretch-woven satin, “Corsage” is irresistibly sweet with its coral almond wash, handcrafted floral motif and Swarovski crystal beading.

By creating these ravishingly ornamental pieces, Pleasure State Couture transforms the concept of allure. Camisoles, chemises, underwire camisoles and baby dolls carry through the visually intriguing nature of this collection.

INDIA

Rich with cultural influence and resplendent in its elaborate design and colour, India is home to a stunning visual array of creative inspiration. Ornamentation is held in high regard and is epitomised in the national costume for Indian women, the sari. Extravagantly embellished with beading, embroidery and intricately printed henna designs and paisley motifs, Pleasure State VIP’s January to June 2012 collection has distilled this essence into this season’s ranges.

The flagship “India” range is equally exotic in either black or raspberry rose, drafted from luxurious floral lace complete with Lurex highlights and enriched with crystal buckles and satin bows. Raspberry rose and black take on a plush appeal in “Sari”, iridescent with metallic embroidery, spot stretch mesh, and a satin bow and gold stud detail. “Oriya” is lavish in an intoxicatingly rich astral blue over glamorous shimmering lace, combined with luxurious satin and mesh, and completed with decorative gold stitching.
